Community Camp "Vivida" Kicks Off with Inspiring Sessions

The much-awaited community camp Vivida commenced on September 3, 2024, with an impressive array of thought-provoking sessions and notable speakers. Organized with a mission to foster learning, inclusivity, and meaningful dialogue, the camp promises to be a platform for engaging discussions on various social issues.

Grand Inauguration by Dr. P.K. Gopan

The event was inaugurated at 10:45 AM by Dr. P.K. Gopan, the President of the Kollam District Panchayat. His speech emphasized the importance of community involvement in addressing societal challenges and fostering unity. The ceremony set a positive and motivating tone for the upcoming sessions, with the presence of local leaders and active participation from the community.

Theme Presentation by Kuripuzha Sreekumar

At 12:00 PM, renowned Malayalam poet Kuripuzha Sreekumar took the stage with his stage presence. Known for his powerful and evocative poems, Sreekumar explored the deep emotions of those who have experienced loss and adversity. He shared insights on the struggles of marginalized individuals, the disruption of social norms, and how these experiences have influenced his poetry. His words left a lasting impact on the audience, stirring their hearts and minds.

A Conversation with Nishanth Mavilaveettil: "From Laughter to Thought"

At 1:30 PM, celebrated journalist Nishanth Mavilaveettil, known for his wit and impactful media presence, engaged the audience with a captivating session titled "From Laughter to Thought". The session was moderated by Allen john.His unique blend of humor and intellectual depth brought a fresh perspective on current societal issues, making the session both enjoyable and enlightening.

Panel Discussion on Gender Equality: "Chilapratikaram"

The first day of the camp concluded with an insightful panel discussion at 3:15 PM, led by Dr. A.G. Oleena, the Director of the Kerala State Literacy Mission, under the theme "Chilapratikaram", focusing on gender equality. Moderated by Harithakrishnan R., the session brought to light the ongoing struggles for gender disparity, with discussions on strategies to create a more equal and inclusive society. The panel encouraged participants to actively challenge existing stereotypes and work towards progressive change.

Day 1 of Vivida set a high standard for the rest of the camp, with inspiring speakers and dynamic conversations on critical issues. As the event progresses, attendees are eagerly looking forward to more enriching experiences and constructive dialogues in the coming days.
