Celebrating International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking: A Community United Against Drugs
On June 26, Baselios Marthoma Mathews II Training College in Kottarakkara participated in an impactful event as part of the nationwide "Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan" campaign to observe the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking. The program, which ran from 1:00 PM to 4:30 PM, brought together students, government staff, and community members in a unified stand against drug abuse.
A highlight of the event was a rally organized from the Kottarakkara Boys Higher Secondary School ground to Jubilee Mandiram in Kottarakkara. Students from all schools in the Kottarakkara taluk participated, alongside government staff and community leaders, demonstrating a strong, collective commitment to promoting a drug-free lifestyle.
Participants marched through the streets holding banners and placards with messages advocating for a drug-free society. The procession was vibrant and enthusiastic, reflecting the community's dedication to raising awareness about the dangers of drug use and the importance of prevention.
The program included several educational sessions done at the Jubilee mandiram aimed at informing participants about the risks associated with drug use and strategies for maintaining a drug-free lifestyle. Experts in the field provided valuable insights, and interactive activities ensured that the messages were both engaging and impactful.
By uniting in this cause, the Kottarakkara community demonstrated that through education, awareness, and collective action, it is possible to combat drug abuse and build a safer, healthier society.
