DAY -2 ๐Ÿ‘ฉ‍๐Ÿซ

Teaching Practice - Day 2: First Class in 8 C

Today marked an important milestone in my teaching practice journey as I had the opportunity to take my first full class with my permanent class, 8 C. The lesson was centered around the concept of food scarcity and food security, drawn from the third unit of their textbook, Let's Regain Our Fields.

I carefully planned the lesson, ensuring that the students would not only understand the theoretical aspects of food scarcity and security but also grasp its relevance to real-world issues. I structured the class to include interactive activities and discussions, aiming to engage the students in the learning process.

In an Overall, I was pleased with the way the class unfolded. The students responded well to the interactive approach, and I felt that I was able to communicate the core ideas effectively. This experience gave me confidence in my teaching abilities and a better understanding of how to manage a classroom.

As I continue with my teaching practice, I aim to refine my teaching strategies and further engage the students in meaningful discussions.

The college campus was adorned with beautiful Pookkalams (flower carpets), created by students from various batches. The atmosphere was filled with excitement and anticipation as the day unfolded with cultural programs, traditional games, and, most importantly, the grand Ona Sadhya.

The Ona Sadhya, a sumptuous feast served on banana leaves, was the highlight of the day. Students, faculty, and staff all gathered together to enjoy the traditional meal, symbolizing the spirit of togetherness and gratitude that Onam brings. The delicious spread included all the customary dishes, from rice and sambar to payasam, bringing a taste of Kerala's rich culinary heritage to the celebration.

For the students of the 2023-2025 batch, this Onam was particularly special as it was their last one at the college. Emotions ran high as they reminisced about their journey over the years, and the celebration was a fitting tribute to the bonds they had formed.
