MICROTEACHING
Micro teaching using is a training technique in which a student teacher isr equired to teach a single concept wring a specified teaching skill on a small group of pupils in a short duration of time. Micro teaching is practiced in terms of desired teachings kills.
A skill cannot become one's own unless it is practiced periodically. A.W. Dwight Allen of the Stanford University first adopted the term “Micro Teaching” in 1963.
Thomas Green has explained that learning is not possible without teaching, but without learning, teaching is not possible. Among the different practices of teacher training,
Micro teaching is an important technique, which imparts intensive training in the component skills of teaching to the teacher trainees.
11.45 am to 1.15 pm : Micro teaching demonstration (General session)
The skills demonstrated in the General session are;
1.Skill of introduction
2.Skill of probing questions
3.Skill of illustrating with example
4.Skill of blackboard
5.Skill of reinforcement
6.Skill of explanation
7.Skill of fluency in questioning
8.Skill of using A V aids
9.Skill of Stimulus variation
One skill is taken by combining Physical science and Natural science optional
10.Skill of promoting people's participation
2 pm to 3.30 pm : Micro teaching demonstration (Optional)
11.Skill of demonstration
12.Skill of Explaining
13.Skill of closure
