WEEKLY REFLECTION 3️⃣0️⃣➖0️⃣5️⃣

WEEKLY REFLECTION - TEACHING PRACTICE

DAY 6: MONDAY, 30 SEPTEMBER 2024

The day began at 9:15 AM with the school community coming together to celebrate. At 9:30 AM, we signed the attendance register, excited to begin the day. We started with taking attendance in our assigned classes, which was promptly submitted. Shortly after, we assisted in the preparations for an arts programme organized by the students and teachers. The event was inaugurated with speeches by the headmistress and the principal, followed by various student performances including recitations in multiple languages, group songs, and more. We helped the students backstage in the green room and assisted with the smooth running of the programme. After lunch, we continued helping and signed out around 4 PM.

DAY 7: TUESDAY, 1 OCTOBER 2024

Today was the seventh day of our teaching practice. We arrived at school at 9:15 AM, but unfortunately, there were no classes scheduled for the day due to the ongoing student organization activities. Despite that, we stayed at the school, completed pending work, and prepared lesson plans for the upcoming days. In the afternoon, we took time to meet with the headmistress and discussed some important work for the following days. We left the school at 1:15 PM.

DAY 8: THURSDAY, 3 OCTOBER 2024

I arrived at school by 9:30 AM, signed the attendance register, and was assigned substitution classes throughout the morning. During the 4th hour, I was scheduled to conduct my lesson, but due to the National Achievement Survey (NAS) exam, I could not proceed with the planned session. Instead, I helped distribute exam papers. In the afternoon, I worked with students in a special reading class to help them improve their reading skills in Malayalam and English. I wrapped up the day by 3:45 PM after completing a substitution duty and signing out.

DAY 9: FRIDAY, 4 OCTOBER 2024

Today, I handled several substitution classes in the morning. During lunch, I assisted with food service. In the afternoon, I had my permanent class with 8C, where I helped the students with their learning activities. From 2:50 PM to 3:20 PM, the entire school participated in a campus cleaning initiative. It was a refreshing end to the school day as students worked together to clean the surroundings.

WEEKEND REFLECTION @ BMMTC

Today marked an important reflective session at BMMTC College, Kottarakkara, where we gathered to analyze and discuss our experiences from the second week of teaching practice. The session ran from 10:00 AM to 1:15 PM in the optional class, offering us a chance to delve deeply into our classroom interactions, challenges, and successes.

During the reflection, we discussed how each of us adapted to the classroom environment, handled students of varying learning levels, and managed classroom dynamics. The faculty encouraged us to critically evaluate our lesson planning and delivery. This introspection helped us understand where we excelled and where there is room for improvement.

This reflection allowed us to share our experiences and receive constructive feedback from both peers and faculty, enriching our perspectives on teaching practice.

In the afternoon, from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM, we had a guidance session in the general hall, focusing on writing the camp report and preparing for upcoming submission deadlines. This session clarified any doubts regarding documentation and the expectations for the final reports, ensuring that we are well-prepared to complete them on time.

Overall, the day was highly productive, offering both reflection on our progress and direction for moving forward.
