WORLD FOOD DAY
World Food Day Celebration at SKVVVHSS Thrikkannamangal
As part of our B.Ed curriculum, we had the privilege of organizing a school-based activity to commemorate World Food Day on October 16. This activity, conducted under the paper EDU 12, took place at SKVVVHSS Thrikkannamangal and aimed to raise awareness among students about the importance of food security and sustainable practices.
Our team, consisting of Devika Murali, Aswathy (Mathematics option), Christina, and Anupriya (Natural Science option), came together to conduct a meaningful program for the students.
The day’s events started with a solemn pledge, where students committed to reducing food waste and making sustainable choices in their daily lives. This was followed by a poster-making competition held from 2:30 PM to 3:15 PM, encouraging the students to express their understanding of the significance of World Food Day through art and creativity.
The enthusiastic participation of the students made the event even more special. After carefully evaluating all the entries, we awarded the first prize to Abhinand from class VIII B and the second prize to Amal Krishnan M from class VIII C. Both students demonstrated exceptional creativity and thoughtfulness in their posters.
The event successfully highlighted the importance of World Food Day and encouraged the students to be mindful of food resources, a lesson they will carry forward in their lives.
